AWARENESS - A GEM FROM MARK JOYNER

Without sending you his earlier correspondence to me, take a look at the letter which follows, also addressed to me, which focuses on the issue of awareness. Awareness requires true watching and listening -- it requires that you do not permit your perceptions to follow their "default paths" and permit you to become distracted or misdirected. Dear Douglas,

We gave you an intelligence test yesterday unbeknownst to you.
Well, "intelligence" isn't really fair. It was more of an awareness test. More about that in a second ...
First, answer this question:
How many of each animal did Moses put on the ark?
"Why two of course."
Are you sure?
Actually it wasn't two. See, Moses never put any animals on the ark. Noah did. (If one believes in such things at all, of course. But that's not the point ...)
See, yesterday we said that Ben Franklin was a former US president.
Ben Franklin, who did in fact hold many a "high office" in the U.S. was never in fact a U.S. President. So, it's not all "dead presidents" on US currency.
You know what was interesting? Almost no one wrote in pointing out that fact. But we're not really at the punch line yet - listen to this ...
This doesn't mean those who missed this are not "intelligent." That would be an uninformed statement. Tests that purport to test your intelligence are often not a test of intelligence, but of awareness, mental flexibility, etc ... (In fact, no one really agrees on what "intelligence" is, so it's almost a meaningless term - as are IQ Tests in general.)
There are, however, a number of skills that are quite relevant to life that are related to "intelligence" and can in fact be radically improved.
